Re: On The Range
Got my first BP revolver at 14 (Navy Arms Griswold & Gunnison 44) and I've loved them ever since. I usually make a brass blade front sight, tall enough for a 25 yard zero and sweat solder it in. https://www.thesixgunjournal.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/2016-08-27-13.06.06.jpg That's a sweet li...

Re: Favorite Double Action Woods Bumming Gun
The gun I've always got on me is this S&W 637 which, after turning the barrel a tad, shoots spot-on to 50 yards with 140-158 grain bullets. https://www.thesixgunjournal.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/20210825_155134.jpg Years ago I had 4 and 6 inch H&R 999s and that 4" gun was about the...

Re: Rossi 92 and Ruger loads .45 Colt
Apparently Rossi 45 Colts tend to be a bit oversized in the barrels specs. These being .453 and long were quite accurate in my Rossi, 3 in an inch at 50 yds as I recall. My three screw Ruger in 45 Colt has correct throats in the cylinder. I believe you are correct. Both my Rossi 45 Colts shot great...

We had a couple of SP-101 2005 or so, a 2 1/4" and 3". Both shot POA/POI at 25 yards. The biggest aggravation with those revolvers was sharp edges on the trigger guards and/or trigger, as well as that plastic insert that goes in the grip. Once those things were corrected, they were fine. T...

I've accumulated some decent rifles over the years but for this area, with inclement weather much of the year, a 30-06 Mossberg Patriot with 3-9 Leupold gets the nod. All the metal get a coat of duck boat paint and it laughs at wet weather. https://www.thesixgunjournal.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/03...

The angle and shape of the grip does affect the way your hand and wrist are pushed. When it happens that all the bones line up, the push from the recoil is spread out over a larger area. When it is concentrated in a smaller area or it causes more twist, the smaller area of concentration causes pain...
