My aunt gave me one back in 65 or 66 never worked right for me. Safety kept falling out so I glued it in and went to a pawn shop and traded it for a 1022. Still got the river.

I'm finding this to be true. Flew my RC plane in a tree not on purpose but anyway it was so high I had only one option and that was to shoot off the wings. I clipped the wings and got it back down but had some damage when it hit. Broke the tail and had several 22 holes in the rudder and elevator. Us...

Wife got a poodle when we got married, smart dog and was a pretty good rabbit dog. The dog up and ran off when our daughter was born. Guess it didn't like competition. Never saw it again.

Sometimes volunteering is good. While in basic at Fort Polk in 68 they had us sitting in a circle explaining about the next day and night activities which was the night fire and obstacle course. One guy laughed and the drill sgt said in a fearful voice " the next one of you talks your on KP. We...

Missed the last show but I think I would have strung up a hammock to get off the ground. I know bears and cats can climb but the dogs can't. I'd make a bear at least work a little to eat me. I grew up in the woods and there can be some down right scary sounds. When I was a kid I'd go out with my cou...

Looks good. Some guns just deserve wood. However I do have a Swedish 96 in a plastic stock that looks like wood, that most can't tell its not. I'd like one of those if I didn't have the real thing.

Talking abt stupidity and luck. One morning back in the 80's I changed the oil in one on my IH 1486 farm tractor's, 5 gal and a filter. Got on and ran it hard all day. That evening when I got off while letting it cool down a bit before shutting it off I saw the drain plug fall out. Dumb me only put ...

Re: So I go to Cabela's today
Jerry, Fort Thompson's prices are OK. Some things you gotta watch but over all bout the same as the box stores except Academy. I like FT, they have 22's mostly CCI's in good supply, lots of rifle power no pistol. All in all a good store. I find Gander to high and snotty people. Bass Pro is to far to...

Re: So I go to Cabela's today
Stopped buying from them cause they put a store in Ark now I gotta pay tax. With tax plus shipping I could buy cheaper from the new Bass Pro in town. Do have a Cabellas Visa though. I think Bass Pro tries to match the local Gander Mtn. high prices. I still go to the last two good local gun shops.

I was like most. I would wear them if I had them otherwise I'd just shoot. Well several months Bach while working up a 38 load for my daughter the top strap and cylinder blew off of my dads 38 smith copy he got back in 1934. The load that did this was a 75 gr NOE wadcutter at 600 fps. I had the revo...

Re: OT- Military Bolt Rifle conversion question
Did this to two M96 Sweeds, great trigger. Just go slow and don't take too much off the cocking piece so it works, cock on open. Went to fast on mt first and it is a cock on open and close but it is a great trigger mines about 2 lbs and crisp.
