Always interesting to find signs of battle, I watch a couple of metal detecting channels that focus mainly on the Civil War. I'm pretty sure that had I been around in the 1700s my rebel attitude would have put me on the winning side.. :wink:

I envy you two wheelers, my bike days like my horse riding are just happy memories now. BTW the first Land Rover was built on a Jeep chassis and had a central steering wheel :o they were intended for farmers and were capable of being used as light tractors, steel was hard to come by for domestic veh...

Good question Six, I had to look it up :oops: I am at 55.1 which puts me level with Moscow, Copenhagen, Thompson in Manitoba and Grande Prairie, Alberta. So I'm north of the land of appliances.
The UK does have the benefit of the Gulf Stream so we rarely get similar temperatures.

Will, I used 12 shot in those CCI .22 shot shells and was not impressed I contacted CCI and asked if they had tried 10 shot but I think because most of their customers use them in rifled barrels they need a few more pellets, over here the Webley garden guns are smooth bored and choked making them a ...

I just picked up a Stevens 94 single shot .410 only cost about $88 bucks and it looks almost new apart from the usual dings from the gun safe. I also bought a box of those little two inch shells, I would have bought more but they only had them in #6 shot.

Rats are perfect quarry for.410s as they are often close to building you don't want to damage, the little two inch shell is ideal but I don't think they're available in the US.

I'm 75 and have been hunting with .410s since I was 13, as Gunny said pattern it with different cartridges to find which work best and don't expect 12 gauge performance. At 25 yds the .410 is deadly and with the right ammo further still. I rarely use a 12 gauge any more even my 16 gauge seems like o...

Anyway I have just blown a whole $88.65 on a Stevens single shot .410 I have spoken to the seller and I now have to arrange for a transfer at a local toy shop.....the .410 adaptor in the 16g was disappointing.

I took out the 16 gauge yesterday evening to check the pattern, full and full not what I would normally go for but it is what it is... :D the .410 adaptor however was abysmal at 25 yda a Squirrel would be pretty safe... :( so I may after buy a .410 just for Squirrels but I've have just seen a 20 gau...
