I'm half afraid to visit Wyoming.....I might not ever come back home! Come visit now, you'll want to go home. Wind chill -25 and I think I've shoveled the same dang snow out of my driveway 5 times now  . It just keeps coming back from another direction. Snow doesn't evaporate or soak in aroun...

I am a member of my local Rotary Club and we have a big fish-fry fundraiser each fall. We usually have around 1000 folks and we pick someone to honor at the event. This year we chose to honor WWII vets. We reasoned that they may not be around too many more years. We got the local paper to reasearch ...

I have a Springfield Loaded and I have been very happy with it. I can't speak to the Milspec model. I actually bought a Colt 1991a1 with the thought that I would like to build it a little at a time to suit my taste. I neglected to research the cost of such a plan, however! I say get what you can aff...

Heck, I wish we'd get some snow here in north Louisiana this winter. Our last semi-decent snow was 1983. I'm an avid hunter, and I've never hunted in snow. It's been 50 years or more since we've had enough snow to build a snowman. I agree Junior. When it snows here, all of us Southerners get to go ...

I agree Junior, those little Rossi are a joy to carry in the woods. Have ya'll been as dry as we have in Middle Tennessee? I'm wondering what effect the drought will have on small and big game around here. We have found some deer that we think died from a form of CWD (bluetongue?). We have found the...

Thanks 3T. I appreciate that. I'll email you my address. Just one round would be fine for my purposes. As a matter of fact, just one of the bullets would be fine. I like Wayne's bullets. I ordered 1000 from him to feed my .45 Colts and they have served me well. He doesn't cast them too hard like a l...

I was trying for Red...
but it came out kinda pink! My first stab at homemade pan lube. Beeswax, vasaline and a little parafin. I put a little carnuba in and a red crayon for color. Oh well..... Those are bullets cast from the RCBS .30 180FN, by the way, destined for my 30/30 leverguns. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...

Track of the Wolf has a lot of kits, and you can pay them to do some of the more advanced work. I've always wanted to do one also, but i'll probably start with a Lyman Great Plains kit first. One of these days I'd like to make a Southern Long Rifle in .36 caliber and maybe a Jaeger in .54 caliber. I...

My only scoped levergun is my 336 in .35 Remington. I out a Simmons Whitetail Classic in 1.5X5 20mm on it. I almost never move it off of 1.5 power. At 1.5 it is VERY fast to target and plenty of magnification for a lever rifle. I don't think that scope is made anylonger, but I think Leupold and Burr...

Biggest Pike I've ever seen. We go to the Quetico Provential Park most summers for fishing and camping. We catch a lot of Pike, but most are under 30inches. I was once soloing in a canoe down the Maligne River trailing a stringer with several smallmouth on it when a large Pike attacked my stringer. ...
