I wear camo, but I'm not as funny about it as I used to be. I now prefer Mil-surp woodland camo pants because i can get them cheap, they are tough and comfortable. For turkey it matters more than with deer, IMO. I feel like the camo allows me to get away with more movement than i could without....an...

OK boys.....anybody ever played with one of these? I have a C&R License burning a hole in my pocket and they seem to be cheap enough. Anybody have any thoughts?

I missed out on a Rodeo in .44 Special also. I got the yips and bought a .45 Colt Rodeo because I could get my hands on it and, lo and behold, the .44 special shows up. I should have figured out a way to get that one too!ScottT wrote:I missed out on picking up a Rodeo in .44 spl. Should have done it.

Tom.....tell me how the horn was used? I have a very similar horn that was made by my Great-Great, Grandfather. He lived in South Mississippi, and I understand he was a coon hunter. When I was a kid I always thought it was a half-finished powder horn. It can be blown, but it is hard as heck to do it...

Interesting post. I had to drive to a little out of the way town in Tennessee today. It is about 50 miles from my home town. The town was Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Chapel Hill was the birthplace of Nathan Bedford Forrest. The town is VERY small, but there were two monuments to NBF. There was at least ...

I like to keep it simple, so no scopes on my turkey guns. I have killed most of my turkeys with a Remington 870 Express and 3 inch Federal #5s. I, myself, have no desire to shoot 3 1/2 magnums....those 3 inch turkey loads are all the recoil I care to deal with! Either brand is fine for s turkey gun....

Been busy with Tennessee turkeys (pics)
Turkey season opened here two weeks ago now. Tennessee is shotgun only and the thrill is in calling a mature tom into shotgun range. I spent all last season trying to call one in for my son to no avail. Opening morning this year things took a turn for the better. His first tom.....10 inch beard/1 in...

Where do you guys get ammo and brass for the .35 Rem? I notice midway only has seasonal runs of it. I started reloading for my .35 Remington when I was 14 years old. I used 3031 and 180 grain Speer FPs. In those days, actually up until the last 4-5 years, Walmart carried .35 remington for about wha...

I have both calibers and I enjoy them both. I will predict that if you don't get the .45 Colt you are putting off the inevitable. Especially if you want to deer hunt with one. This is based on the assumption that you reload your own ammo so you can afford to shoot it a LOT. If not, the .38 specials ...

I have killed more deer with my Marlin .35 rem than any gun I own because I got one for Christmas at age 14 (1976). I have killed a truckload of deer, but honestly never taken a shot over 100 yards. I have found that a 200 grain Core-Loct behind the shoulder leaves a blood trail that a blind man cou...

When I was a kid, my Grandparents had a fish camp on the Amite River in Louisiana. There were people there, friends of my Grandparents, that worked only enough to buy food, beer and fishbait. I have heard a lot of nice things about their 22 rifles. Their 22 revolvers seem to be better made and better materials but otherwise the same design as those offered by Weirauch and late FIE.
