Saw this today at an antique store.
I didn't know Winchester made a Marine Compass.

Re: UNIVERSAL BIG 8 AM TRANSISTOR RADIO-HONG KONG
Leave it be if you have doubt of your ability to remove the case. If it works, excellent, you are a lucky owner. Most old radios have dried out capacitors and do not work, like two of my Zenith's. The entire back of the case comes off for battery installation. The entire component board is visible....

Re: UNIVERSAL BIG 8 AM TRANSISTOR RADIO-HONG KONG
Yep; in those days they used discrete Transistors, made by Zenith, RCA, Motorola, etc. With my Zenith's all the transistors have sockets and are plug-ins. Transistors were a USA only made product in those days. Does the Big 8 have plug-in Transistors also ? I don't know. How can I tell without mess...

Leupold Detacho rings and base, not for sale for years. Jeff Cooper talked about the handiness. Sweet ol school mount. "not for sale for years." Unfortunately :( I've gotten a couple more Detacho mount sets since that earlier thread. Was especially happy to find one for my Remington Model...

Re: UNIVERSAL BIG 8 AM TRANSISTOR RADIO-HONG KONG
I have three Zenith Trans-Oceanic Radio's. Of the Three, only the Royal 1000 has the CD marks on the AM Broadcast dial at the appropriate locations. The Big 8 are nice radio's. What was interesting, when I removed the back to install the 9v battery, most of the components on the board had made in t...

Re: Winchester Model 94 Scope Mount ?
What brand scope mount is this? If so are they still available? How exactly do they attach? I would imagine a scout/EER type scope has to be used for this setup. Here, why don't you take a look at the thread that I posted my picture in in the first place: http://levergunscommunity.com/viewtopic.php...

Today's $6.00 flea market toy find. :) Work's like the day it was made. This is interesting, I never knew this about the 2 CD icons. "The most collectible and historic vintage transistor radios were made in America from 1955 to 1960 and Japan from 1956 to 1963. An easy way to date a transistor ...

Re: Winchester Model 94 Scope Mount ?
I don't think I'll do it.
My 1943 has no additional holes for any type of add on sight's, nor sling for that matter.
And it's going to stay that way under my stewardship.
I just thought this was an interesting way of adding a low power optic without D&T'ing.

This is an excellent article, cshold ! All of my life I've yearned for a pre-64 Model 94 and now that I've retired and we occasionally have a few bucks extra at the end of the month, I'm seriously on the hunt for one. My question is: What is the serial no. range for the last of the pre-64s? I would...

As very few M-16 A-2's were ever made as transferable, it's entirely possible that seller bought that gun from Targetmaster as my bud has had more than a few for sale. They currently have several A-2's on the showroom floor including a Colt 9mm SMG. Price on the 9 is 25K and the A-2's are 30. These...

Nice deer, but that 30-30 is no 38WCF! We will have to wait until next year now! I am guilty of the same offense.
