Re: Trying lead bullets in my 30-30s
I use the Lee expander die. It has a plug that can be flipped either way for a large range of calibers. It may not be truly universal, but has worked to my satisfaction for everything from 6.5mm Carcano to 45/70 Gov. Consistency is in the manner of use, and it fits right onto my Lee hand press. Mayb...

Without a doubt, a Winchester 1895 Musket in 7.62X54Rmm Russian, un-modified of course, with a decent bore. A bayonet would be nice, but not required.

I understand that the stock design was poor, and the recoil was so fierce that the average landser could only tolerate about ten shots before he fliched so bad he was useless. Not much point in using it as a sniper rifle. Later anti-tank rifles usually had recoil reduction systems besides a muzzle b...

I believe your dies are OK. You want that neck tension. I currently use a Lee Universal case mouth flaring tool, which doesn't cost much more than $20.00. I have heard of the pliers trick but never tried it. Before I had the Lee tool, I used a 6" tapered punch, that had the tip broken off, and ...

This is not being sarcastic. On a vintage Winchester 95 I own (made 1915), someone removed the pin holding the blade, and inserted a worked over coin (I think it was a dime) that was filed to a reasonable shape, and even had a pin hole drilled in it. Then the original retaining pin was replaced. I b...

The No 4, Mk1 (or 2) makes as almost much sense a a police long arm as a pump action 12 guage, except in very hevy urban areas. When the criminals are using AK 47s, it makes more. Bet the Enfields were gotten less expensively than 12 guage pump shotguns would have been.

My 1947 flat-band also has a straight grooved hammer. As an aside, mine was never drilled and tapped for a receiver sight, or a tang sight for that matter.
