Re: No more bacon for you

That is how hog hunting is viewed by most in an official status in Virginia, especially in the Soil Conservation Service and Department of Game. They blame hunters for the demand that drives crooked outfitters to release piglets all over the place, dramatically increasing the spread of hog populatio...

I do not have a Henry, but looking at the pictures on their site, the Henry has a hybrid magazine tube. It can be loaded from the front, like a .22, or the rear like a traditional lever gun. The front cap is removable, most lever guns are not. And the tube has a liner. All these additional complicat...

Taylor’s kind of missed the mark. A 9mm lever gun is a great idea for anyone who doesn’t reload, online bulk ammo is half the cost of.38special. But a $2000 gun is too much, I bet the idea will sell if somebody make a 92 clone for 6 to 700 dollars.

Taylor’s sells the Chiapa 1887 for almost $1800. Wow. In all honesty, that shotgun, with an additional rifled choke tube and some kind of rifle sights would suit me far better. Could still play with black powder slug loads. And any 12 gauge 2 3/4” load, light or heavy.

If I had that project, my first thought would be “How big has the chamber and throat eroded to?” You have a small number of cases fired in that rifle. What is the biggest bullet you can slip fit into the cases? There is a shortage of pistol caliber bullet molds between .314” and .355” for the .380 a...

How hard is that on a revolver’s internal mechanism? I did that rather slowly with 2 different .45 colt SAA uberti clones around 20 years ago. Both ended up jumping time and hitting the cartridge with the firing pin on the far edge of the rim.

I got rid of both of them and stopped shooting like that.
