Re: What 9mm manufacturers ammo do you use for self defense?
A 9mm even with ball is nothing to sneeze at. I've had to investigate many a homicide that a 9mm ball was used. My primary is in 45 ACP, but I also have a 9. It's the survivalist in me. Don't know many countries that don't use a 9mm some how. And, with the advancement in handgun bullet technology ov...

Mesci, sounds like a neat project. Please, keep us informed. Lead can make a real mess once it start's depositing in a barrel. It generally doesn't take long before it is real thick. Some Choreboy over a jag/brush tight down the barrel will strip it out. Good luck.

Honestly, if you're enamored with the Smith, just get it. Save whatever and get what you want. From my experiences everytime I didn't I wasn't happy. They're great guns. They don't hold up to high end loads like a Ruger or SA's, but don't feed it a steady diet of top end loads and it'll serve you a ...

That's the first time I've heard of wads over powder and leaving a gap between the wad and the bullet base. Of course I've heard of fillers used before, but not a wad. Apparently no issues with pressure or Remington wouldn't of done it. I learn something new here all the time. I don't recall the wad...

I'm sure it will shoot. Unlike the small bores, the bigger bores don't mind a little pitting. Like Don say's again, you might just save yourself a lot of ag and buy a Green Mountain job.-----------Sixgun I'd probably save my chedddar until I could afford a better barrel or a new one like Jack said.
