Bringing an update. The heater is pretty much done and is working great. I'll get more data when the temp drops and I can burn for effect. For now here is a video from a month ago or so. hope this works.

I found a rock. It is about the size of a baseball and is rusty brown colored. It is heavier than your common rock. It appears to be metal but a magnet does not attract to it. It used an Amal Monoblock carb and it already has a Lucas magneto unless yours is missing. The permanent magnet alternator is on the LH end of the crank and supplies current for charging the battery and lighting only (should be 6V).
