Well, I finally got my web site started. Man what a pain in the butt. I don't work well with computers. There is still work to do on it but it's a beginning. My work has been down hard lately. 2008 was the worst I've done since 1979. I'm hoping for an upturn. Well? Thanks for looking. Oh yea. You ha...

Season here in Ohio doesn't open until April 20th. However, I did hear my first gobble of the year yesterday morning ,so spring is here. Personaly I'd rather hunt turkey in the spring than anything else. Last spring I harvested turkey #23 for me and it happened to be the smallest I've ever harvested...

Years ago, my father would use a magic marker to identify the several shotgun loads we had while reloading. He would color the primer only. By what ever code you use, the shell is immediately identifiable even when mixed lose in the vest pocket. We mostly hunt with double barrels and often use two d...

Re: OT - 16 Gauge Turkey Loads
Your 16 will do fine within it's limitations. Here's the one thing to remember about shotgun shooting. The shot, weather it is a #4, #5 or #6 is an independent projectile once the wad separates from the shot column. At this point it boils down to effective range of the shot. A #4 will have an effect...

Actually, I was serious. I'm pretty sure the arrow of light badge gets transfered to the uniform shirt. Above the left pocket, I think. I was thinking there was something else that transfered to the uniform or sash as well.

Another question that should have come to mind earlier. Were there any rounds being head stamped prior to 1886. In the 1879 catalog picture it shows all seven rounds that Winchester was making at that point. I never noticed before but none appear to have a head stamp.
