Open sites, site picture advice
Well, a bunch of open sited lever guns followed me home and I want some advice on what site picture you all use. Some just have a blade front site, so I assume that you hold the circle target on top of the blade creating a "lollypop". Some have a bead front site, so do you hold those like ...

Marlin 1895 S advice needed
Need some ideas for this "new" and new to me rifle. It is a 1895S Marlin made in 1981 in 45-70. I picked it up just this past week and I don't think it has ever been fired. So I removed the bolt to clean old cruddy grease off it, cleaned the inside of the receiver and headed to the range. ...

I had thought about buying a new rifle this year in a new caliber for me, but after seeing how tough ammo is to buy the heck with adding anything new, I have enough of a stash for what I currently own. Re: 45-70 lever ammo feeding advice needed
Thanks to all who responded and gave advice.
I usually do hunt with different ammo than the Hornaday, and all other ammo i have tried has fed fine. I can use the Hornaday in my Ruger #3
But if I wanted to change the magazine follower, where do I get the new style and how hard is it to change out?

For those familiar with Browning A-5 shotguns, they have a mag disconnect to easily unload the chamber or change the type of shot shell in use. Just wondering why the lever guns don't have one. It would have made it easier when taking the round out of the chamber to be legal when in the vehicle or o...

Used with the a #1, to center the flash hole reamer into the case mouth. This one is for a 6mm. You would need the handle and reamer (see #1) then you slide and use a set screw to tighten the pilot onto the reamer. The reamer is used to clean out and round out the primer flash hole inside the brass ...
