Tomcatt. Thanks for the reply. I would need to know more about the gun. I have no idea what they sold for new. I've started shooting the big marlin lever guns a few years back. I have two 45-75's. I'm now looking for a older 45-70G gun with a muzzle brake. I had a friend who had a 444. Got to shoot ...

Thanks a bunch guys. I have two 1895's now. Love the guns. One straight stock and one pistol grip. Now I have to find one with a brake. Thanks again. Love this site.

Muzzle brakes
Can anyone give me any info. on the years Marlin 1895's, 45-70 , had a muzzle brake? I was told this was a factory barrel, not a gunsmith application. Thanks.
