I know this thread is about handloading the 358win, but for those that don't load and would like to buy factory loaded ammo other than the 200 win silvertip... Check out Conley Precision for some pretty attractive 358win loads. As long as you are willing to pay the freight, this may be your solution...

I may be way off base, but isn't the SAAMI Spec based on the strength of the cartridge case and not the chamber? That would explain why the 30-30 has a higher SAAMI rating than the 35 Rem. and both are chambered in the same 336C. IIRC I have read that the 35 Rem case just isn't as strong as the 30-3...
