Re: Let's have some fun with names

Mine is kinda a pun, my name is Russell, go by Rusty, a buddy in the AF with me started calling me Rustolium. It was all down hill from there, if he ever introduced me to someone, it was as Rustolium.

Re: Plans for after my deployment!!!

Mich hunter, I'm holding on to my BDU's as long as I can. I did take to the no polish boots, even though they are hideous.
Griff, sorry bout your experiences. But I can garantee nobody I work with was involved, welders don't get off base much :)

Plans for after my deployment!!!

All right folks, here is one of the things I have been thinking. Buy a SS 336, cut the barrel to 18 or 16 inches, and convert it to straight stock. From what I have read, it should be fairly simple to do. I want to hear what y'all think.

Re: Got an education in the UK today!

I have also carried a knife all of my life. My Mom is a school teacher so before school every day we would have to do a knife check before leaving the house, I'd just wait till after she left and put it in my pocket. Most of the time I carried either a Craftsman Stockman or a Boy Scout knife. Nowada...

Hmmmm , I'm from a place in Virginia you've probably never heard of ! Little place called Orange :D I live halfway between Orange and Gordonsville . I'm also a memb...

Re: Non Domestic shotgun question

I know I bought some Aguila Mini shells in #4 Buck, but I'm not sure about the velocity. They shoot like a powder puff at least to the shoulder. I'll try to check their website for velocities, there's nothing on the box. some say these also won't cycle through some actions but they go through my 87...

That pic is way cool. I believe the BLR just doesn't have the soul of the 1895. I reckon I'll just have to settle and get one in '06.

I'm wanting a .308, cause I have a gun for that already. I want more guns, just not more calibers. I reckon hard chrome plating could work too, just can't be shiney. I love the reduced maintenance of SS.

1895 question

Does anybody out there make a modern 1895 in different calibers and materials? I'd like one in .308 and SS. Probably just a dream, huh?

Multi-tasking

Anybody here have a Lee Hand press? I got mine in a day ago and love it so far. Been decapping brass while I peruse the forum and watch tv, my kind of multi-tasking! Now I just need a good general purpose load for plinking, hunting, whatever may come!

Go with the foamies. They can be washed if you feel the need to use them more than once. Get the orange tappered ones, they work the best in my experience(Welder/machinist in the Air Force, around running aircraft). The best earmuffs I have ever used came form the Stihl chainsaw dealer, couldn't tel...

I second the previous posters comments. I was really dissapointed when I went through Basic in Lackland. I have been in 5 1/2 years and shot the M16 TWICE!!! Two days total, that's it. I'm not sure how it is for cops or other combat personnel, but as a machinist we only shoot 25yds. at tiny targets ...
