The 200 gr. RNFP would be a better choice since you are going to be shooting the same round for the 92 mag. tube Lever and a revolver. We tend to shy away shooting round nose bullets in tube fed Lever rifles. In the tube the round nose is sitting on a primer of the cartridge in front of each other a...

If the piece were chambered in 44WCF you would have no problem.

The 1873 and the Burgess were not chambered for the 45LC for this very reason, also the original 45 Colt case had a smaller diameter case rim which would cause extraction issues.

You're onto the right idea there for a nice plinking load. Depending on how tight the neck portion of the chamber is, those bullets (which are probably .313) may or may not cause the neck of the loaded cartridge to be too tight. In which case you could size 'em down a bit and they'd be fine. Just b...

Besides the neck, there are two case lengths for the 38-55, standard length and long for the single shots.

The lyman "M" die 30/cal can be used for all 30 cal. I reload for 30-30, 30 Remington, .308 & 30-06. I use the same die for all. You can also use it for jacketed bullets. Just do not adjust as much as for lead. This prevents from scraping copper on a tight case neck.
