I think the Williams receiver sight just mounts in the rear two scope mounting holes, much like a Marlin. I don't think Savage D/T the receiver top for scopes until the early 1950s. Well, I only have one pump gun, a Rem 760 in 300 Savage. It's the most awkward thing to use, but it's darn accurate and swings nice in the hands. It resides in the safe with about 2 dozen levers and a couple of bolt actions.
