I'd love to find a Marlin .45ACP camp gun. I've tried to locate one but they are as rare as hens teeth.

My first experience with slings was on my M60 and M16 in the Army. It seems like every time you needed your weapon quickly you had to first contend with the sling hanging on something...branch, the equipment on your body, etc. You could tape them to not rattle but the snag factor always drove me aw...
