Re: Cimarron 1866 32-20
A lot of the older 32-20s I see here have very rough bores from Black powder and corrosive priming. A uberti 1866 has been on my list for a while, I looked at it 3 times Saturday before buying it . The price was quite reasonable and the seller even threw in a box of ammo. [ quote=gamekeeper post_id=...

Re: Cimarron 1866 32-20
I was always a 32 magnum shooter, but do have a couple 32-20 handguns. I have shot them in carbines just never have owned one. There are 1000 unopened Starline 32-20 brass on the table in my shop. They were backorderable this summer so I put in my order just in case I needed them, I also use them to...

Re: Cimarron 1866 32-20
The 100gr XTP is a great bullet. I have used it a lot in .32 magnum and .327s. I also have a couple of HP bullet molds I will have to try in it. [quote="High Desert Hunter" post_id=1004687 time=1733193591 user_id=1107] Sweet! I have a Marlin 1894CL in 32-20 and it is a sweet round for sure...

Cimarron 1866 32-20
This Cimarron 1866 32-20 short rifle followed me home from the gunshow yesterday. It should make a fun plinker.

I have seen two cavity Lyman’s with two different bullets. This may be the first 4 cavity I have seen set up like that.
That Lee 255gr RNFP is a good bullet. I have shot quite a few of them.

Re: Favorite/Least Favorite to Reload/Most Reloaded Cartridges
My favorite is probably the 44 Special. I just loaded 400 round yesterday for it. That is subject to change though. My favorite Rifle cartridge to load is either .308 or .45-70. Least favorite is whichever one is currently giving me the most trouble. Honorable mention goes to casting, sizing, and lo...

Re: Hornady One Shot case lube
I generally spritz my straight wall cases with one shot before loading them, and never bother to wipe them off. It drys and doesn’t cause any problem. It makes sizing easier in carbide dies and can help with expander drag on virgin brass. Every bottle neck case I have stuck in a die has been using i...

Re: Red Dot powder
I have been using Red Dot in various handgun and rifle cartridges for over 30 years. A while back I scored a good supply of it and it is my most used fast burning powder. I have used it from everything fro 32 Long to 500 Linebaugh. It is great in 45 Colt, 45 ACP and 38 Special. Recently I started us...

Re: Building a garden shed
I have a wood frame 12x20’ shed that I enclosed and insulated the back 8’ for bullet casting. I rant a 20 Amp line into the shed with 10 gauge wire, cut a hole for an exhaust vent hood over my lead pot. The insulation I used was just left over sheets from a previous project then I covered it all in ...

Re: Moving away from the AR-15
For several years I had a real hog problem here at the house. I decided to try the AR platform to develop a real opinion on it compared to other rifles. I started by shooting several with the 223. Like your experience I found it killed them but they generally ran and blood trail were minimal to non ...

Re: Chronographing Today
I can understand that. One year at the holiday I was shooting some Remington Golden bullets in a Marlin 39. Extraction was a little stiff, and when I finally looked at a fired case there was no firing pin indent because the pressure had pushed it back flat. That was a really hot batch of ammo. Most ...

Re: How many of you
Lately I have been shooting at a 15” plate with a 22 handgun quite a bit. My routine starts at 75 yards and I go back to 175 yards 10 to 12 step at a time. I can’t move back until the target is hit. There are 10 or 11 “stations” depending on how many steps I take. So far my best is 10 hits in 13 sho...
