Looks to me like a good quality restoration. Grips are not correct and the case colors look too bright for a 90 yr old gun. Markings look good, not buffed out. What's up with the base pin?

I have heard from several normally reliable sources that the knife laws here in Texas were changed last year. Autos are now legal to carry everywhere except the city of Austin which still has knife restrictions. Not sure about any length restrictions.I should check into that.

Lots of 1st gen Colt SAAs were converted from their original caliber to 38 Special in the 1950's and early 60's.If it was converted the barrel would read "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 38 SPECIAL" on the left side.

Yes, 44WCF. "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" was how Colt marked their SAA & Bisley Models in 44WCF (44-40) until the late 1920's (I think late '20's, might have been early '30's). I'll have to look up the serial # but yours dates to about 1899.The best bet would be to repair the gun with o...

A mountain bike fitted with high pressure tires is the way to go. Seat should be about level (not tilted up or down) and set so that there is a slight bend at the knee when the leg is fully extended. The most important thing for riding comfort is PADDED RIDING SHORTS.Padded cycling gloves are nice too.

Mescalero1, no closed season here in El Paso County, limit of two per year though.I am told that the key to good tasting javelina is carefully removing the scent gland on the lower back.I've only had it once but it was quite good & not gamey.
