At one time I had both a 218 bee and 32-20. Like a ##### I sold the 218. I still have the 32-20 and it is a great turkey gun. I also picked up a ruger buckeye in 32-20, and they make a great pair.

I am a big bore nut. I have a 338,358,348,2-35 Whelens,45-70and 44's. In my opinion the BLR 358 will kill stuff out to 200-250 as good as any. I traded a 308 BLR off for my 358 BLR.....Joe

I RUINED a browning 1895 30-06 by cutting the barrel down to 21" and boring it to 35 Whelen. I would rather hunt with it than any rifle I own. I am not getting rid of the rifle until after I am dead and I won't care who thinks I ruined a rifle. Life is to short, and if that's the rifle you want...

Thanks Gunnymack on the Winchester parts. I ordered one today and will try it. It developed a crack and ejector was flopping around and would not eject empty shells. thanks Joe

If you rub Vaseline into the cotton ball it will burn hotter. I carry Vaseline cotton balls in a old film canister when elk hunting for starting fires. I have a Browning 1895 that was a 30-06, but I sent it to Jes and had it bored to 35 Whelen. I had him do a 1 in 14 twist on the bore and also had him cut the barrel down to 21 inches. It is a very good shooter and really thumps elk. But even with a good peep sight my eyes are getting to old to shoo...

I have an old pot that I put the sizer in and cover it water. Place on stove and bring water to boil. The lube will melt and come out. Because this is a mess I keep a pot for cleaning dies and sizer.......Joe

I had JES bore my Browning 1895 to 35 Whelen, and I just love it. It functions with no issues. I also had him cut the barrel down to 21" and add dovetail. It shoots better than it did as a 30-06. It is my main elk rifle and a real thumper..............Joe
