Re: Ivermectin Musings....

... Covid in Bangladesh... they have had about 5% of our death rate from Covid... but the only thing I find out about their method... I find 8% as the official rate, but I'll note India's official rate is 15% of the US yet researchers there have concluded the actual death rate is about 10 times hig...

Re: Fooling with the 240 gr. XTP MAG bullet in my Rossi

Guess I could shoot some water jugs lined up. The cast load worked pretty good, fine perpetrator. Just wanted a bit more speed and to burn up the bullets I have laying around.

Fooling with the 240 gr. XTP MAG bullet in my Rossi

This little 16 inch barreled Rossi in 45 Colt has been a good shooter, handy as heck and usually behind the seat of my truck. It has bumped off many trapped feral hogs and a few on the run as I walked up to the traps. The load usually has been 13 grains of Blue dot and a cast semi wadcutter 255 to 2...

Re: The pain the pain....

Took em both out to my gun range in the back yard. Shot 40 rounds thru both of em and decided they really don't take up enough space to bother with. Might as well keep em. Decided to put a scope on the 30-30, a Weaver 4X with a post reticle, that will make em different enough to keep both. The 35 Re...

The pain the pain....

I have two Marlin 336's one a 35 Remington made in 1957 and the other, a 30-30 made in 1966. Both are set up with peep sights and I have owned both for a good while. I have shot a lot of game with the 30-30 having had this rifle since the 70's. The 35 Remington has only been mine for 8 years or so a...

Re: .30 WCF terminal ballistics

I shot many mule deer and a few antelope in Wyoming circa early 80's and found generally that I rarely recovered a bullet and that past 175 yards it seemed expansion was pretty weak. I used reloads pushing 150 gr. Speer and Sierra bullets to around 2300 fps. My load was 32.5grs. of IMR 3031. I used ...

Re: RCBS 35-200-FN cast without gas check

I'll try it my way and if it works I'll fill us all in. I haven't cast any yet but now that Christmas is out of the way I can get to the kitchen but the wife isn't back to work yet.

RCBS 35-200-FN cast without gas check

I have this mold I would like to try without the gas check, planning on pushing it to around 1700 fps from my 35 Remington. Will cast from wheelweight material and push with IMR 4227 or AA 2520. Lube will be Alox. Should I water cool? Will the lack of gas check cause accuracy problems? I would like ...
