I'm deciding whether to cut to 18" and keep full capacity, try and see if 17" for barrel and tube will still afford me 5+1 (I can technically fit 6 rounds in the tube now), or cut to 16.5 and lose a round.

It would be closer to 5 inches of barrel length and 2 inches of tube length.

Because I plan on cutting the barrel to 16.5 (at gunsmith), and I will cut the tube too, but I want to be able to maintain 5+1 ammo capacity, which there are many 16inch lever guns that do that, but for some reason Henry has less capacity per inch of tube.

I'm speaking about the ammo tube in particular. Henry's tube is 5+1 at 18 inches, so cutting it down to 16 would make it 4+1. But companies like Marlin do 5+1 in 16 inch ammo tubes. So I'm just wondering what the options are.
