Re: What did you do at the reloading bench today?

Today I loaded 20 rounds of 30-30 with 10 grains of Unique under commercial cast 165 grain rf pb, .309. These are good plinking rounds in my old beat up Winchester 94 made in the 1970’s. I also deprimed about 75 30-30 and put in the wet tumbler with stainless pins, Lemishine and Dawn for 3 hours. Th...

Re: What did you do at the reloading bench today?

Great thread idea JBowen. Hey, did you're 429-200-RF drop .431 from the factory or did you lap it? The last I did was gas check a mess of RanchDog TLC432-265-RF for my Winchester 1892 chambered in 44 Magnum. Then I set back up for bullet pictures. I'll be using the Lee hand press for a good while u...

I finally got around to finishing my 44-40 loads today. Put the 24.5 gr. Of RL-7 under my Lee 429-200 RF in Winchester brass with Federal 150 primers. I started crimping with the Lee FCD die, but I noticed it was pushing my bullets in about .015. I wonder if it was because they are .431? I then took...

My first 308 was a short barreled 788. Shot very good. Arkansas had a law back then that you had to have a 243 or smaller caliber center fire to shoot coyote and like a dummy I traded it off for a NEF 243. Many years later I have Savage 11 and a Winchester 100 in 308. Neither is as accurate and hand...
