Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect

Jay, mine's a 95 and it's been a workhorse. I did increase the displacement a bit so it'll haul the mail for a little quad like that. But it'll just putt along all day without a complaint too. Talk about a basic ATV! It doesn't owe me a thing.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect

Amy and I went on an ATV ride this morning. Although she has ridden with me (as a passenger) many times she has never piloted one herself. We left the house at 0400 and got to our unloading spot at 0615. I knew we were going to start off pretty slow because she didn't know how to negotiate the rocks...

Accurate #9

I have been looking around locally for AA9 but had been unable to find any at Sportsman's and Cabela's. My shooting partner said he went into Cabela's last week and bought a pound of AA9 but when I went in they said they didn't have any and couldn't remember ever having any. Big box store; one hand ...

GK, I go on a pre-dawn 2 mile hike at 4:30 every morning but I'll have to say that I'm less worried about bears than I am about the mountain lions that my own and other neighborhood cameras have captured. I'll admit that this one was a hefty fellow, the camera is mounted 28" above ground level.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect

I worked for the same company for 43 years. Ownership of the company changed, the name changed several times. The company was bought by different holding companies that bled the outfit dry and then sold it but I always stayed. The work suited me just fine; my boss would come work with me once a year...

Re: Interesting

I have found that the Hornady tool allows too much movement of the bullet; the neck doesn't have quite enough tension and so the bullet stops as it enters the leade instead of moving on to the rifling. If you insert the dummy Hornady round enough times you will find that the bullet will sometimes go...

Although the barrel may not have exactly the same specifications as a trademarked Micro-Groove barrel, it certainly has way more grooves than a conventional barrel. But you're right in that the grooves look deeper than my recollection of a Micro-Groove barrel.

I have a Remlin Cowboy Limited in .44 mag as well as a JM in .45 Colt (one of my favorite rifles) and both have Ballard rifling. I have frequently read recommendations for shooting cast bullets but never had to apply them, never having owned a Micro-Groove gun.

Several weeks ago I ordered a new Ruger/Marlin 1894 in .357 magnum. Of course I would have preferred a JM model in a Cowboy Limited but they're expensive and hard to find. Re: If true it raises many questions (on the assassination attempt)

I suspect that one of the sources of confusion lies in lack of communication between local police and the Secret Service. Since the local police were supposedly in and around the building, how was the Secret Service team to know that the assassin wasn't a local officer scanning the crowd?

My brother had an old flat fender Jeep; it was an early 50s CJ-2A, a civilian model if I remember correctly. It was around for decades and if I'd known he wanted to get rid of it, I would have taken it off his hands. But without telling me, he sold it for beans just to get rid of it. What a pity.

I admit that small standard deviations are no guarantee of accuracy but my 6.2 gr loads using Titegroup under 250 gr bullets in .45 Colt usually run between 2 and 6 fps SD and that's a big step in the right direction.
