Yeah, pulling that carb is a major job. I replaced the screws holding the bowl onto the carb with stainless steel allen head screws so I could loosen the clamps, rotate the carb and have access to the bottom of the carb and not mess up the stock screw heads. It looks like the road to camp isn't even...

Bill, there are several powders in the same burning rate range as 2400 and #9. I have used 4227 quite successfully in the past. With 19.0 grains of 4227 behind a 210 gr cast bullet, the velocity while a bit lower than heavy loads of 2400 or AA-9 makes a good load and is quite accurate at a bit above...

Hey Walt, what do you think of your .41 Bisley three months later? Bill, I took the Ruger Bisley .41 mag shooting yesterday and it shot very well, especially with the 210 gr RCBS cast bullets over 14.5 gr of #9 for a little over 1,000 fps. My 225 gr Accurate Mold bullets also shot well over 17.3 gr...

That's a remarkable gun. The screwhead slots look untouched and it appears that the chambers are recessed. I have an old model SBH manufactered in 1973 and it does not have recessed chambers. I believe Ruger stopped making them that way some time in '73 but I don't know the specifics.

Bill, one of my favorite loads in .41 mag is with AA-9. 17.5 gr behind an RCBS cast 210 gr is very accurate in my 6 1/2" Blackhawk, moving out at 1330fps. A moderate load with the same bullet uses 14.5 gr of AA-9 for a velocity of 1030fps. AA-9 works well throughout different pressure levels. I...

Jay, of course it depends upon riding style and terrain but driving at reasonable rates on the highway, my DR-Z always gets above 60 mpg. My range with a 4+gallon IMS tank is around 250 miles. Even with an aftermarket Sargent seat, "monkey butt" ends the ride well before I run out of gas.
