Back when I got my first SBH I switched between the original grips, Hogues, Herretts, Uncle Mikes, Pachmyers and then went back to the original dark walnuts. I've stuck with them ever since. Also, I can shoot better with the old "plowhandle" grip frame guns than with my Bisley-frame .44 mag.

The Garmin chronographs are very sensitive and I'm guessing yours may have chrono'd the velocity of the gas escaping the split in the barrel.

I have several Super Blackhawks. Back when I was doing my best shooting about 30 years ago, my stainless 7 1/2" SBH was the gun I shot the very best. My load was the Lyman 429421 in front of 20.5 gr of 2400 and I could usually keep five out of five shots on a 12" gong at 100 yards offhand....

I have a Smith model 34 kit gun in .22lr. Years ago I took it around to several gunsmiths to have it rebored to fire .22 mags but nobody wanted to do the job. Now that I have a convertible Single Six I think I'll just leave the model 34 alone.

Many people have reported better luck on deer and elk-sized game with ELD-Ms than with the ELD-Xs. The manufacturer may not recommend target bullets but they work. Just like the recommendation against using .22 centerfires for deer and elk. They work.

I shake and have the jitters so badly that I don't do well with long barrels; they amplify my inability to settle down and hold fairly still. So I do better with the shorter barrels and my ability to focus on the front sight is improved as well.

You may have noticed that commercial bullet casting companies show "out of stock" on nearly all of their products. I think people are nervous about future availability and they're stocking up on bullets and molds.
