Paul, JReed, When I instruct Defensive Tactics at the academy I give one of them an Airsoft pistol and have him holster it. Then from 7 yards I run at them with a rubber knife and 99% of the time I "stab" them before they get the gun out and on target. BTW...lateral movement, not backwards...

AJ, the peep sight under the scout mount seems WAY too far forward to use. Can you see through the peep sight enough to engage the front sight?

Also, IMHO, one has to establish the same cheek weld in order to shoot the same grouping consistently. Have you experienced otherwise?

Jarhead, the knife was a custom made knife. You can find other knives made by the same man, Brain Wilhoite, on line or at the Smokey Mountain Knife Works. The rifle, a .44 Mag Marlin 1894SS, has had no custom work done.

I have been reading old posts looking for the information to smooth the action of the Marlin 1894. The best post I found was titled, "Marlin 1894 disassembly." It has several excellent links and book titles that detail how to do the job properly.
