Re: General purpose.45 Colt bullet
My all-around favorite 45 Colt bullet is a 200 grain RFN. I initially started shooting this bullet in my 1911 as a practice round in place of our issue 200 grain jacketed duty ammo. Tried it in my SAA and found it shot just a sweet. I usually buy them thru Southwest Ammo in Mesquite, TX... a Rucker ...

About a month ago, few days before the election, I found a case of Winchester WLP primers and picked it up. I'm down to just a few hundred WLR primers and hope to stock up soon. I see over on the SASS Wire that someone has scored some of the new WRE (White River Energetics) SP primers.

I have only ever used 4 powders in .30-30: RL-7, IMR 4320, IMR-3031, & BL(c)-2 with either a 125 HP, 150 FP (jacketed or cast) or 170 FP. The fastest I've ever driven the 125 was ~2,450fps. I can see by JimT's post, I should get some LVR!

The only 9mm I've ever owned was a Walther P-38... a civilian model as I understand they were the only ones that had a polished blue finish. Does anybody know when Winchester made there Canadian model 94? It's the one that has the octagonal 27 inch barrel with the maple leave on the receiver. My gun shop has one in near mint shape! I think they wanted around $ 700.00 for it. If it's pre 64 I guess it's not to bad for the times we are in...

Yep, all the Miroku produced Winchester 94AEs have the tang safety. Much better than the USRA cross bolt safety. Winchester, when it was still held by the Olin Corporation started producing the mdl 94 in 45 Colt in 1985. Traditional mdl 94. While I don't like the AE or safety versions, if you want a...

I've seen a couple. The only multi bullet mold I have is a single .36 cal round ball and a .36 cal conical. I had my one & only 44Mag stolen in 1974, a Winchester 94... and what I remember most about it was that it hit harder than my .30-30 at the back end. It didn't have the range the .30-30 did, ergo, it's never been replaced. Fast forward to 4 years ago and I purchased my 1st .44-40 rifle, an AWA L...
