Re: Campsite Cooking

It appears that Vienna Hot Giardiniera peppers might be hotter than just Jalapenos 20000 - 30000 from what I can gather here on the net quickly. I just bought a case of these jars. They are a staple at my house. We have not tried much other than Jalapenos and Cayenne peppers in the garden so far.

Your preferred load, grips, holster, and usage for S&W 329PD

I am interested to hear what your experience is with the S&W 329PD is. It seems to be the best fit for what I was recently certain was going to be a .44 Special proposition. What are your preferred grips and what are they used for? What is your preferred load and what is its purpose? What is you...

Some great ideas here. Thank you all. I am not committed to the bore size, I just have a few revolvers in the the bore size and it would be handy. Lots of the 45 Colts are attractive, just not as available in the lighter weight guns. If one hikes at a strong pace over rough country, where one is oft...

Re: Light small 44 special wanted

I own a Ruger Bisley in 44 Mag. It is very nice to shoot stout loads in. The FA 97 sounds great, the same weight as a 696 with another 1.25 inches of barrel. I have much more experience with double actions. The muscle memory is there. But the idea of this 97 is growing on me. I did stop by and look ...

Re: Light small 44 special wanted

Thank you for the suggestions fellas. The loads I will be using are similar to the 255 grain Keith load in either heavy 44 special or light 44 mag BB load, which is too much for the Charter Arms guns I reading. I would hand load some 250 grain Beartooth Bullets. The idea is to have a load that could...

Re: 1895 in 9.3x62 - It has been christened

I don't mind shooting a 250 grain bullet, but I want it in a .338 for a sd of .313. The 250 in .366 is an sd of .267 which is comparable to a 175 grain in 30 caliber, not my idea of an elk round, although I am sure many here routinely do it with less. I also like traditional bullet weights for calib...

1895 in 9.3x62 - It has been christened

Gents, Recently I purchased an 1895 Winchester (new model) which had been rebarreled to 9.3x62. The entire rifle has been hard chromed. It has a scout scope mounted on the barrel. Today I hunted opening rifle deer season in Nebraska with it. I shot the second nicest buck I have ever bagged. A big bo...

86er, Have you considered a M1 carbine? Small, light enought mabe, peep sight he is used to. Semi auto helps reduce recoil. Pleanty enough oompf for what you are trying to have him acomplish. Not too much "reach" so there is no temptaion to have him try for a shot he is not ready for yet. ...
