Need help getting mag tube off 1876 win
I have been screwing around for some time now to get the forearm wood of my 76 Win, but I need to get the mag tube off. Can someone show me the light??. I have the forend cap loose, but there I am stuck

Ok.
Take the mag plug out, remove the cross pin from mag hanger, remove the 2 screws from the fe cap. now it should slide out. If its been in for a whaile (couple of decades) it may need some minor twisting. It may also help to grease the tube, help it thru the mag ring.
