Tuesday at the Range !

Got out to the range tuesday about 12:30 !

First up was the Savage 10ML !



Shot a nice 3 shot group at 50 yards with the Hornady 250 grain SST and 42 grains of VV N-110 . So I moved the target to 100 yards and shot another nice 3 shot group with the same load . The first two shots were touching and then the third was about an inch away . A friend that is working with one of these also was sitting there watching . He went to his truck and brought me three 200 grain bullets with sabots that he's been shooting in his . I tried three of these at 100 yards also with 42 grains of VV N-110 and they also had two touching and the third about an inch away . So I am pretty satisfied with this thing now !
I plan on pulling the Leupold 6.5-20 and mounting the Leupold 4.5-14 that I have on my 338 Federal , Encore barrel ! And if all goes well , I'll go by the gunshop , bore sight and then sight that thing in tommorrow !

Next on my agenda was my Savage 210F 12 gauge slug gun !





I have an older Leupold Vari XII 3-9 mounted on this one ! Scope works very well on this gun !



I wanted to check the sight in on this . SO I began with the Hornady 2.75" SST . Shot two of them and they were right on at 100 yards !

Also have some of the Winchester XP3 ammo which is also a polymer tipped 300 grain slug thats supposed to be running about 2000 FPS . I had shot two of these last year after sighting in with the Hornady SST's and they were close enough to use the same sight in . So I fired two more today and they were where they needed to be as well !

Now I was ready to shot the 50th Anniversary Ruger Blackhawk 357 Flattop !







I had some rounds loaded up with the no longer made Nosler 125 grain HP bullet and I wanted to see how this revolver liked a bullet that light !

They shot pretty darned well at 25 yards !

So when I got done I went to the local gunshop and ordered a box of Hornady 125 grain XTP's .

Then last but not least I got to the peashooters !



I had my Marlin 1894CB and Ruger Single Six both of which are chambered for the 32 H&R MAG .

Wanted to try the Single Six at 15 yards and then got my Lyman tang sight set up for 50 yards !

I hate to admit it but at the moment I am shooting the Hornady swaged 90 grain SWC in them both !

I load that bullet with 4.5 grains of Unique and a CCI SP primer .

This was the first time I had shot the 1894CB in about a year I think !

Furthest I've ever tried has been 150 yards on paper ! The furthest I've ever shot a deer with this particular slug gun would be maybe 60 yards ! With other sluggers maybe 80 yards !

I would think they are okay out to 175 and maybe 200 yards .

I just may very well be finally done with messing with slug guns and muzzle loading inlines !

I kinda like this combination of the Savage 10ML and 210F !

Only thing I can think to do would be to purchase camo stocks from Savage for them both !

I was amazed at how they both feel very much the same when you put them to your shoulder .
