My Latest Leatherwork- Lots of Pictures

Post by Hagler »

Gents & ladies,

Here are a couple of leather items that I recently finished. I thought that I would share them with you.

The first is a snap-fit sheath for an old knife that belongs to my brother-in-law:

I was attempting an aged look, with an emphasis on the idea of reusing pieces of "120-year-old" military leather, hence the flaming bomb & "1892" date on the back of the sheath. The color appears to have an orange cast in the pictures, but it is really a warm, antiqued tan.

The second item is a pancake holster that I intend to sell. It is built around a Charter Arms Police Bulldog, 4-inch barrel, six-shot, .38 Special:

This shows a S&W Model 12-2 in the holster:

While it appears to be the same size as my Charter, and they both have 4" barrels, the Model 12 is just a shade larger in the trigger guard & the forward projection of the bottom of the frame.

I have uploaded these pictures to my PhotoBucket album, accessable through:

Thanks for looking.

Shawn

Nice work. I wish I had a talent.
Do you make custom holsters? I'm looking to have a Frog holster made for my Savage & North. Could you make it from a tracing of the gun:

Very nice Hagler, that pancake holster appears to be top-shelf. Talents like leathercraft are special; have to be, 'cause my efforts are laughable! :D

Old Savage,

Thank you.

Yes, I do sell a few things. I put this up on Gun Broker a little while ago:

I needed a extra cylinder holder for my Ruger single six so I came up with this. Nothing fancy but it works. It is made out of an old snub nose holster.
