Deal Or No Deal ?

Post by cshold »

Stopped by an outdoor flea market today.
Just out of curiosity, did I do good or not so good
on these 4 boxes of .22’s :?:

He also had 2 boxes of Win. 5mm. for sale.
Don’t know anything about that round.
But neat looking little rimfire round. :)

Not bad IMO.

Was it actually Win 5mm or Remington that you saw? Some of the original ammo can bring medium bucks to collectors and shooters with 5mm Remingtons. I think the market dropped some after Centurion started producing 5mm recently but I don't know for sure.
If these walls could talk, I'd listen to the floor.

Winchester's brand of 5mm rimfire.
I probably should have picked them up as well.

If he's asking less than $30 per box and they haven't been chewed up, you could probably make money on them...

I sold my 5mm last year because ammo was unobtainium unless you paid collectors prices. 2 years or so ago I paid $70 each for 2 boxes of 20 or 25rds. Didn't shoot them because I just couldn't bear the thought of throwing $2+ down range with each trigger pull...

See what they are bringing on gunbroker, etc since I've been out of the market for a while.

I haven't bought .22 LR's for a while, but I usually get Winchester Wildcats at K-Mart for... $9.99 a brick. That translates into $.99 a box. Last time I looked they were $13.99/brick normally, but still on sale a few times a year at the $9.99/brick price.

I know prices have gone up a bunch, but that much on Winchester Wildcats? If so, I have some bricks to sell!!!

Hummm !!!
Could be I got taken then. :(
Not the first time, and I'm sure not the last. :)
Guess I should have grabed up those 5mm's that were
only a buck more a box than the .22's.

Now I'm going to have to run out and confirm the pricing. As I said, it has been a while. I usually wait for .22 LR's to go on sale and buy several bricks at a time... :D
