I have several rifles for sale on gunbroker (non are levers so don't go looking ) and after seeing the BS with permits and such for selling a rifle into the state, I've added disclaimers to all of my auctions stating that I won't sell to California.
Sad situation but I'm just not comfortable with doing it the way things are. The last thing I need is trouble with some darned Cali commie DA...
I'd gladly work with somebody from this board - who I could trust to walk be through the legalities - but not just anyone that wins the auction...

I have been seeing alot of them state that. "No sales to CA" or "ships to the lower 47". I can't say anything about the regs on shipping to CA but it sure does look like alot of people are getting on the "will not ship" bandwagon. It is sad, especially for the people in CA.

This only applies (as I read the details) to "outside CA" FFL holder shipping to a "CA" FFL holder. This was backed/supported by the CA Retail Gun Shop Assoc (or something close to that name).
what is truly needed to get a point across to kalifornia state legislators/SAG/DOJ is to boycott their leo statewide...if dealers and manufacturers would refuse to sell to ANY LEO in the state of kaliphornia, maybe they'd ge the hint...
don't sell firearms, ammo, service their equipment or train their personel.

keep in mind, also that "moonbeam" brown is the SAG now. he hasn't been able to mess up california badly enough as gov, now he has to try to as SAG; they think they do not have to adhere to federal law. think back when bill lockyer told the FBI to kiss off after he was told not to access their data base about doing background checks...nothing ever happened to him even though he'd violated federal law in doing so...now, the bozo is state controller!!
it's always "galled" me that darn near every law pertaining to firearms passed has the "except for law enforcment" clause in it. i've got nothing against LEO having AR's...but...I BELIEVE I SHOULD HAVE THAT SAME RIGHT!!

Here's a short story. Just last week i bought a shotgun from a guy on gunbroker (i live in kalifornia) i didnt see his disclaimer about not shipping to kalifornia when i bid on it. a few days after i bid on the gun i noticed his statement that "no sales to kalifornia" i emailed him and told him where i was from and asked what he wanted me to do, retract my bid or what? he said dont worry about it because he was sure that i would be outbid anyway. well, i wasnt and i won the auction. i checked with my local ffl transfer dealer here in kalifornia and found that all he had to do was fill out something online at no cost to the seller and the deal would be done, took about 5 minutes tops. anyway the deal went through with no problems and no additional cost to the seller. as i remember the seller only needed the other ffl's info like some number assigned to the kalifornia ffl dealer and that was it. kalifornia is way off base i know but it can be done without too much hassle.

It's not always that simple. This went into effect last month and I have signed up. I think I sent 3 or 4 guns and all went relatively smooth except one. I was given the wrong info about the receiving Cal FFL and it took several emails and ph. calls to clear it up. As it stands right now, I will continue to do business in Cal but time is money so I may have to start charging a Cal. CL# process fee in the future.
I just bought a Drilling and the new California law didn't seem to make much difference. My FFL has all the info required on his form. Didn't seem to delay anything or cause any consternation for the two FFL holders involved in the transaction. I am indeed glad I have few firearms on my wish list now because I note a lot of Won't sell to California notices. I will be most happy when I can leave my native state in couple years should I decide to do so but it is kinda sad that backdoor attacks on my constitutional rights is the reason.

The only problem with inviting nice folk from out of state to move to TX is that even though they say that they hate where they left, they still want to bring some of those dumb-butt ideas with them and then try to turn TX into the stuff-hole they just left.

The only problem with inviting nice folk from out of state to move to TX is that even though they say that they hate where they left, they still want to bring some of those dumb-butt ideas with them and then try to turn TX into the stuff-hole they just left.

I know Steve, this place is a royal pain in the ***. just the mention of a gun around this place and the libs go balistic. i dont remember it being like this when i was a kid.
Same stuff happened with Colorado, parts of Wyoming and Montana. Allot of the Kalifornia locals were done destroying their home apparently, they moved out to these states and started preaching their garbage there. Be careful what you ask for. Just look at Denver
Folks that are not selling to Calif. are doing exactly what the sociaist elite gun-grabbers here want. Stop guns from coming to California legally.
They think they have beaten us here, they know it and are rejoicing and now are coming to your state.
Look at the condor lead ban here, that everyone laughed at and said "move out of that crazy state."
Now that the antis think they have won that battle, they are surging forward for a national lead ban.
So, rather than stop selling and advising folks to leave, would not it be better to praise and support us for staying on the front lines fighting for rights?

They figured the out of state FFL's would go off half-cocked when notified and refuse to sell to California buyers. They were right.

You are missing the point Why should the rest of the country bow down to Ca and its leftist law makers. If enough people and industries stop doing business with Ca maybe the Good people of Ca will get tired of being denied goods and services maybe they will quit being complacent and take back there state.
I was in Ontario, Ca just a couple of weeks ago. After driving all night long I pulled into the T/A to get something to eat and a few hours in the sleeper before I had to make my delivery. While I was in the café the State Police came into the parking area and began writing tickets to truck drivers for idling their trucks to keep cool in the 95+ degree heat. (First infraction $300 second is $1000) They want us to be safe on the Highways, but demand that we sleep in the heat. Not one of the Law Makers is willing to go home and turn the A/C off on their own families and tell them its good for the environment. And before anyone says its because of the exhaust from my truck the only difference between my truck and the home A/C unit is the location of the exhaust pipes, mine is on my truck theirs is on the electric plant.
So good people of Ca its time for you to step up and demand that your Law Makers be accountable to you and not some Lobiest.

The point is that I am a C&R Collector - not a dealer - this is not my business, just my hobbie and I don't want to deal with unconstitutional BS.
Nothing against anybody in California. Just that I'm not dealing with it. That is all.
If all FFL dealers said "no" to Cali laws and added Cali LEO accounts to the no ship list, then we might actually see some positive things result.
By supporting and just going along, the CA legislative idiots are encouraged to pass more unconstitutional laws.
I already put up with enough of this - not going to add more.

Here in Texas, the news is that a North Texas school district just changed it's policies to allow Teacher/CHL holders to bring their handguns to school - with restrictions of course, but they can bring them and have them if the school is targeted by some crazy.

I know what youre saying but i think part of the problem here is, their arent enough of us left to make a difference. I vote, write congressman, everything i can think of and they stuff can my letters im sure. -This place has gone to the dogs and i dont think it can ever be repaired. Their will never be a right to carry law out here either, im satisfied on that. About a year ago i bought 22 acres of land in northern Arizona and I cant wait get outta here and settle there. Im embarassed to even live here anymore even though I know it's not my fault. I do my part but it's not enough. Nest time your in kalifornia let me know. Im in the north san diego county area and would love to meet you for coffee or lunch or even stop by the house and we'll fix you up.

Bruce thank you for the link, I am well aware of the options. It is a matter of getting the company to pony up 4-6K per truck (7500 Trucks) in the fleet. The point that I was trying to make without sounding TOO angry is that Ca is not friendly to any industry that is serving them. I have a feeling that more and more industries are just going to say no more, because they are going to get tired of jumping through the hoops for a limited market.
Gary I will give you a call next time I am in Southern Ca. I go to Calexico and Ontario on a regular basis and occasionally I make it to San Diego. Drop me a PM with best way to contact you. It may be a while before I get back to Ca though. I took a pretty good fall out there last month, and am at the house nursing a sore shoulder. I will know what the diagnosis is next week on my next visit to the veterinarian.

If you had bothered to check into it, you'd have found that Type 03 FFLs and private partys are EXEMPT from the CLFC requirement.
I must say that I resent the "if you bothered to look into it" stuff - why should I have to? But thank you for the information - I can remove my statement then if I'm exempt from this lunacy. That doesn't make any sense to me at all.

We are doing our best to combat the "Moon Bats" controlling the state legislature. The replies I got from Boxer and Feinstein were form letters. They redistrict the state to wrest control away from all conservatives. Yes, Polisi is from here, too. Generally, the major urban centers of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Berkley, etc. come up with wacko ideas to make life tough for the rest of the state. Probably the best thing we can do is vote, join the NRA and CRPA, support them with cash and let them battle it out in the courts.

My family has been here since the late 1800's and we believe in the God given rights as expressed in the Bill of Rights!Everyone could help us here by boycotting movies starring gun-grabbing socialist stars- those are the people that are buying up Montana, Colorado and other free state's lands; then becoming anti hunting, anti-gun,activists. The sheeple think that they musy be correct, because they are famous and evoke emotion on the silver screen!
Go to NRA's site and see who the big anti stars are and stop going to their movies!

It means that he is short sighted and greedy.
While I understand that he would rather get the full markup on the rifle, he is missing out on maybe selling your son some accessories, or even that you son may come back and buy a gun from him.
I'm betting that is the last time your son had any contact with this dealer, which means the dealer cut off his nose to spite his face.
It doesn't bother me one bit if some dealers refuse to sell to Californians. Their loss, not mine. I haven't had one bit of difficulty in purchasing Winchesters from those who are interested in actually selling them, though.

Sorry, KCSO, but C&Rs DO NOT apply. This silly gimmick was thought up by the CA FFL dealers as a sort of "protection racket". I also refuse to deal with any of them and I am a resident of the state. If an FFL is required I have no interest.
