Has Puma really changed their guns?

Post by AJMD429 »

Just saw TomD's post on the NKJ DVD sticky that he'd bought a new Puma and it had no safety, and that the magazine tube isn't parallel to the bore. Anyone know if these are new changes or what?

I just picked up my new Rossi 92 in stainless, 357 mag. I was surprised to see that the safety has been eliminated. At first I thought it might be stranded stock, but it turns out the gun is "fresh". Good news for all who disliked the old safety.

One thing that surprised me about the carbine version is that the magazine is not parallel to the barrel bore either my version, or the pictures that came with the gun. Is this something particular about 92s/357s or did they blow the aesthetics in the Rossis?

I called a couple gun shops near here (IN) and none were aware of a change. Maybe if he posts some pics it would help.

News to me. I bet it one of the very last of the EMF that were safety-less. The last ones came in two years ago now.
