A little range time this afternoon.

Post by 2ndovc »

Even though it was in the low 90s, I finally had some time to get out.

Took the new Redhawk and my Problem Child 94P out with some larger .431 diameter LSWC bullets.
Well the Marlin is still keyholing and the Redhawk didn't care much for the load either. At thirty yards offhand, the Redhawk should work out with some different loads. I'm no ScottT when it comes to shooting a handgun, but I can improve on this. I'll try the .44s that my SBH shoots so well.

Gunny,
It does. Much better than cast, but I was hoping to get it in line with my SBH.

Thanks Bill. It sure is a handful.

Microgroove? Have you tried hard vs soft cast? We all know each gun is unique to itself. My 257 AI doesn't shoot great at 100 but it'll shoot better groups at 200, I've beat my head against the wall over this for years!

Yes, microgroove and yes I've tried just about everything. I've had this thing for a couple of decades. Paid $250 for it at a show. So far, the only bullets that have worked fairly well are the Speer 250 gr. jacketed flay point. Those are pretty pricy and not always easy to find.
