Sage learned a hard lesson today!

Post by GunnyMack »

Got home today and found a heating pad destroyed! Yes it was plugged in!! :o
I guess either she chewed the cord off above the switch first . Or maybe when she got 120v she yanked the cord out of the wall ? Needless to say she doesn't want anything to do with the heating pad now.
I'm lucky but not as lucky as she is!!

Will, when I first knew my ex she had a retriever pup from a kennel involved in Gerald Ford's dog. That puppy chewed up the hot tub edges and cover then went to work on dismantling the heat pump wiring. How that boy survived is beyond me.

Winnie, mom to Claro and Parker was an absolute terror for the first 18 months of her life. She destroyed EVERYTHING! At 18 months it was like someone flipped a switch from Bad to Good and she never touched anything else.
Claro never chewed, nor did Parker. Sage hasn't shown interest in wires before and I don't think she will again!

Glad she is ok. Did it even throw a breaker?

No, the breaker didn't trip. I found that fact a bit unnerving since they should trip!

Fifty years ago I had a black lab. I got called away to help a Guy so I put Him in the garage instead of walking back to His run. was back in about 30 minuet's. He showed Me by chewing up a bunch of My fishing rods . never did that again. .

Oh that hurts!
My second Lab, i bought myself as a pup, only ever chewed one thing- one of my favorite Acme boots, fortunately it was well covered by a pant leg. Of course I'll never forget coming home and rolling across the floor on the bag of 7¹/² shot that she brought up from the basement and chewed open... I'm still finding shot !

Our previous dachshund crawled under the sofa one night when she was a puppy. Little did we know she decided to chew on a lamp cord. Well, she got into the wire itself, got zapped, and let out a yelp you wouldn't believe. I had visions of the cat from "Christmas Vacation". Fortunately she was alright, and she never chewed on a cord or anything else after that!

My JRT was a cord chewer as a puppy so I unplugged everything and rigged a length of lamp cord to a 9volt battery and let the end dangle. Sure enough he got into it and got the least bit of ZAP. It was enough to deter him, it pizzed him off and was probably why he killed everything he got his mouth on!

Had an Irish Terrier who chewed cords. Burns in her mouth didn't stop her.
