That sounds like the old 4dram- it - D_mn-it loads we called Duck & Dinosaur loads.
Which species of goose is that?
Greylag goose.
Lol, it sure wakes you up when the trigger trips.

Good shooting Nath I bet that 4f gives it a bit more wallop ..
It's got whallop John. It's not much different than a breech loader when leading birds on the wing.
Two years ago I took one at 50yds and initially thought it was pure luck but no, when I dressed the bird it had multiple pellets in it!

Beautiful goose and a good shot!
How do those goose taste?
I gave up goose hunting here because I can't cook one to my satisfaction, let alone please my bride's pallet.
That's why you shoot the goose, give it away and go out for dinner
We tried making baloney with Canada's are even that was tough.
I've had goose jerky that's chewable.
They are good, just as long as you grind them up, add herbs and make a meat loaf.
If you're gonna roast one place a clean new house brick in the cavity. Once roasted for nine hours remove said brick and serve sliced with vegetables.
Throw the goose away.
Nath, I have had the Pedersoli percussion doubles in 10,12 and 20, and the Kodiak doubles in .58 and .72. None of them bruised my jaw like that 10-gauge and the loads were nowhere near your level. I have never wanted any goose that bad!

Just get a good grip on the thang Bill.
To be honest I notice it when testing but not when hunting.
I see some shoot them from a bench! Not me no way!
