The 450 Marlin :!:

It's supposed to be a belted 45-70 for lack of a better explanation . That way the factory can load them up a bit and not have to worry about someone shooting the ammo in an old Trapddor .

Nice! Looks great - what kind of finish is that? We need details! Love the full-length magazine tube.

It was at Brockman's getting the tube done. I changed it to a pistol grip and added the XLR stocks straight from Marlin. WWG bearproof ejector, action and trigger but I am going to have to do a little more to it. Scope is leupold M8-2.5 in Leupold mounts. I actualy like the .450 better for a faster cycling rifle. They load easier through the gate and feed smoother from the tube than any other Marlins I know of. I polished the back side of the gate and this one will just about load itself. Fixin to go sight it in. This rifle has been a shooter from the beginning. With Nosler 300grs and a stiff dose of H4198 it shoots 1/2" groups. It has been to Canada in the hands of a big time hunter and killed two huge black bears. I have deer kills on it out to 286 yards. I am prepping this one for a bear hunt and a water buff. reflex264

Well I shot it. I am in love. Did several rapid fire drills with hot 420gr loads. The pistol grip stock helps keep the sight picture in view during recoil. On a target the size of a buffalo nose I wore it it as fast as I work the lever. Awsome. reflex264
