Geeze Doc....Winchester (except the stainless steel) had that figured out in the 1870's.
1st. Gen. Colt SAA’s, 1878 D.A.45 and a 38-55 Marlin TD

In the Guns and Ammo article I notice when they showed the receiver for the 45-70 and it had V threads for the barrel instead of the old square threads. That is a plus for strength. Now if they ditch the Micro Groove rifling when they start producing the 30-30 it will be a better Lever gun.

I imagine Microgroove will not be reintroduced in any caliber
