Time For Some Lever Pictures

Post by Bruce »

I finally finished up a few minor lever projects and thought some pictures were due.

Image
Left to Right -
Marlin 39 A
Marlin 308MX w/ MXLR wood
1920 Winchester 1894 Takedown in 32 WS
Marlin 308 MXLR
Marlin 30AS w/ MX wood and converted to button magazine
1952 Marlin 336 RC that was originally going to get a button mag - I did not have the heart to do it.
Winchester 9410
Winchester 1906 22 - had to throw that one in.

1894 Takedown

336 RC

The takedown is being evaluated for value soon and it and the 336RC will probably make room for some more XLR calibers or project guns. The 30AS is wearing a brand new Skinner Lo Pro rear and Skinner front sight that I have not had a chance to evaluate yet. My initial impressions are very good. I have a feeling there will be more button mag conversions in my future. I am really beginning to like short mags and dislike full mags and barrel bands. Another cycle I guess.

That's nice, even the Marlins are good looking rifles.

Yep, nice looking collection! And what is meant by "even the Marlins..."? :?

And I think we're supposed to post some of our own too... so

Here's the one that I don't have in my hands yet - .356 Win 336 RC conversion:

My 95 Win with its new sight:

What a joy to see those great lever guns !! I only have a few and the newest one (Mossberh 464 30-30) had a defective extractor and is awaiting a replacement.

These are my close friends - BL22 Browning rimfire -

That is some good looking collections.

Jdad, you can send that old Marlin here to Florida and I will gladly keep it right beside my 1894. I promise to wipe it down after every trip to the woods. Of all the guns that we see around here, I have never seen a Marlin takedown (other than 39A) in a shop or at a show. I could be real tempted to buy one if I cross paths with one in person.

OJ, I hate you, everytime you post a pic of your beautiful 95 I have to put my labtop out on the clothes line to dry out, but I love to see it. Is there any way to get a pic of that thing for a screen saver?

Here is some of my lever collection:
Image
Marlin 95 45-70, Marlin 336 35Rem, Marlin 94 32-20, Win 95 30-40, 1972 Win 94 30-30, 2006 Win 94 30-30, BSA 1874 Martini-Henry 577-450, Remington rolling block 50-90 Sharps, I'm missing my EMF 1874 Sharps in 45-70, and my new Ruger #1 in 9.3x74R.
