New Marlin 336W 30-30

Post by TCB in TN »

Just traded for a NIB Marlin 336W 30-30. Not the first one I have owned over the years, but haven't had one in a little while. Haven't taken any pics as it looks just like the catalog example, the fit and finish is very good, the action is a little stiff but since it hasn't been fired it is to be expected. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I don't expect anything but good things from it. The guy bought it a while back and never got it out and shot it. I got it right ($250) He was needing a little money!

I have a buddy from out west TN that is supposed to bring me a ole straight stocked glenfield 30-30 that is in real good shape, but he ain't made it this way yet. I am excited about getting it for a re-finish project!

Also got my youngest son a 12ga pump mossberg and traded for a little cheapo single action .22lr pistol (will be my new snake gun).

Over all it was a very good day! :D

Yep, and the best part is that when I got them home and the wife asked what I got, her comment was you got a good deal, and that I deserve it! :D Boy I love that woman!

Took my new toy out today and tried her out. 1st 5 shot group at 40yards (with open sites) was a shade under 1 1/4 inches dead center about 2 inches high. Ran a box of shell through it and could easily cover all 20 in the palm of my hand. I was very pleased, it also has a pretty good trigger. :D
