Sometimes Israel isn't a stupid as the U.S. is...

Post by AJMD429 »

If this had happened in the United States, the teenager would be charged with:
  • assaulting an officer
    theft of a firearm
    underage possession of a handgun
    brandishing a firearm
concealing a firearm without a permit (there would be some moment it wasn't easily visible)
aggrivated homicide (the perp would undoubtedly be in some "protected class" - a minority, or something)
possession of a banned firearm (in many cities)
terrorism (he used a firearm in a public place, where several people were killed)

Doctors for Sensible Gun Laws
"first do no harm" - gun control LAWS lead to far more deaths than 'easy access' ever could.

Looks like the kid was on the dozer and had him stopped and then had to "stop" him for real. Well done young man.

When you click on "video of attack....." about half way down it gives a detailed account of what happened. Apparently a policewoman shot him once and he still drove off. The off-duty soldier and an armed citizen tried to stop him but couldn't so the soldier took the gun from the armed citizen and ended it. The soldier's brother-in-law is a Captain who killed a terrorist who had attacked a school in March.
Even when police are there, it's not always a guaranteed solution. As a cop, I wish more "citizens" were armed. I can remember a couple incidents where civilians bailed me out of a mess.

That was the way to take care of business. The kid shot him a couple times and stopped him, then you can see the police officers drag his limp body partially out of the cab and shoot him again with a rifle. 8)

Right.

In the US, the officers would have been charged with brutality and perhpas murder...thats the difference.

Give that man a promotion. Good job. If only we had people that willing to take care of business here we wouldn't have a fraction of the problems we do. When people know they'll be stopped in short order the coward side of their brain remains in control and they don't do it.

I've said this many times. "Israel's history is our future" If we do not heed their mistakes we will repeat them. The israeli's don't have schools shot up any more or planes hi-jacked. Their people are armed, teachers and pilots alike.

The thing about Israel is that they are in a very real life and death crisis almost every day. The threat is constant. They understand that and they deal with it. It permeates their lives and influences the way they deal with situations like that. People in the US have long forgotten how we got to where we are today. They have become way too complacent, apathetic and comfortable in their own little worlds and everything that's happend stateside in the last seven years reflects that. It's hard for me to believe that so much of what happened 50yrs ago is so readily disregarded. It is unforgivable.

U.S politicians are already kicking around the idea of 10 day waiting periods on BULLDOZERS,and limiting BULLDOZER purchases to one a month, ignition locks, D.C. BULLDOZER ban, preventing cocealed carry, and............just changing the word HANDGUN for BULLDOZER illustrates just how ineffective firearm laws are, maybe they could ban MURDER and then the world would be safe.
