Harrisburg, PA. Gun Show.

Post by cshold »

Any of you PA. guys going??

June 14 & 15 Harrisburg, Pa., 1200 tables Farm Show Complex, (internet map) 2300 North Cameron St. 17110. Interstate - 81 exit 67 Cameron St. south to Farm Show Complex on right. From Pa. turnpike ( I - 76 ) exit 247, follow I - 283 north to I - 83 north to I - 81 south to exit 67. No great buildup needed for this show. It has become the largest show of its kind in the east. None bigger or longer established. This is a new time frame in the big “air conditioned” Expo hall for our show that usually ran in early May. Our usual offerings, plus an open invitation to MILTARY COLLECTORS WORLD WIDE to display or sell. Featuring LUGERS, WALTHERS, ENFIELDS, SPRINGFIELDS, MAUSERS, and other famous military gun manufacturers. Special display tables will be available and cash awards will be offered for best educational display. This is a diverse show offering a variety of antique, modern, and military guns, knives and military collectibles and supplies.

Nope.

Nothing to peddle, nothing on the "want list" to buy, no reason to go. I picked up a 5" Uberti Schofield in 45 Colt last weekend and that was the only thing on the want list. Probably stay home this weekend and play with it.

Three hrs drive each way for me, and it's been "same show, different date" for the past few. Last show had a nice Ruger Collectors display row and I very much enjoyed talking guns and discussing world problems with Sixgun, but overall the show was "Eh!"

Not wasting the time, and saving $42.85 in fuel, $5 in parking, and $8 admission (IIRC, it's $8 now, but might be back to $7.). That's $55.85 to get in the door and back home.

Might as well face it, you're addicted to guns . . .

IMO - this is usually a pretty good show - although I will not be attending.

mmmmmmmmmmmm........nope. I would be but our gunclub is having its next to last silhouette shoot for the season. Sunday is a kick back day for me. Besides, I hate the $5 parking fee. Its not the $5 that bothers me, its the thought of it. Like Noah says, its $8 to get in, 5 to park, $5 for turnpike, $60 for gas, and another $5 for coffee and a sandwich for breakfast, so thats $80+ before I get in the door--------forget it---------Sixgun

Hey Reds! Give 'em hell? Don't know about that. With my new attitude my scores have dropped. I got tired of "putting so much into it" and decided just to enjoy the game.----------Sixgun

We used to have the Great Western Gun Show at the LA County Fairplex in Pomona,CA with 5800 tables until the LA County Bd of Supervisors canned it.
