Took my "shorty" Ruger American to the Range today
Shooting 50 yards .. resting on a rolled-up piece of carpet.
Then I set a fired 5.56 on the backstop and fired a shot at it.
It seems to be working OK. I just need to learn how to shoot it!

Well, that is one 5.56 brass case that will never load itself and go kill an innocent gang banger. We are safe!

Good shootin' Jim. If you're just letting the rifle do it's own thing you best just keep on doing that and not try to boss it around.

Yessir. I have found that usually the cause of inaccuracy in my firearms is the nut holding it.M. M. Wright wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 5:23 pm Good shootin' Jim. If you're just letting the rifle do it's own thing you best just keep on doing that and not try to boss it around.

Yep...took me decades to learn that......hold still, watch the front sight and take your time...fast. Trying too hard will throw your shots.JimT wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 5:32 pmYessir. Testing out some 215 gr. 44 caliber Hensley and Gibbs bullets today.......taking my time, slowly squeezing the shots, holding hard....5" at 50 meters................putting the front sight where it belongs, holding firm and squeezing fast ....2 and 1/2"...---6
Ready for the silhouette match Saturday.
