On the 3,878th round from my Marlin 336 I had this happen.
Anybody else have this problem?
I see that midway has a replacement for $3-4. With how much I shoot I think I'll buy two.

Are you shooting a lot of cast bullet reloads? Perhaps you are getting a minor amount of lead buildup in the camber area that is just slowly overworking the extractor.
Of course, it is only a theory, at least until you closely inspect your chamber for lead.

Almost 3900 rounds. Who cares what caused it as long as it last another 3900 rounds before the same thing happens? Of course, if it were dangerous, or a couple-hundred dollar fix, that would be a horse of a different color...

I'm more then happy with the rifle, I just thought it was an interesting jam. I'm glad it happened now and not just before rifle season.
Like Hobie I've not seen one like it before.
