Anyone own a Winchester 1885 Traditional Hunter?

Post by 1886 »

I just found one NIB chambered in .45-90. I am very impressed with the quality. One of the best factory triggers I have experienced and a great barrel. I have heard that these rifles wear Badger Barrels. This would be easy to believe given the smoothness of the bore. I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks. 1886.

Traditional Hunter

1886: I have a Traditional Hunter in 45-70, excellent shooter, have taken elk, deer and antelope here in Wyoming with it.. There was another model that wore the Badger barrel, I think it was the Black Powder Cartridge Siloute (Spelling??) rifle.. but the Traditional Hunter is a Browning barrel.. HTH.. Les

I, too, had the Browning .45-70 TH, for about two years - and it was a pretty decent shooter.
