Versatile holster rig.

Post by rangerider7 »

I put this photo on another thread but thought y'all might want to see it. It is very handy because you can put rifle cartridges in one pouch and revolver cartridges in the other. It is a cross-draw rig made originally from an old Bianchi holster. The flap and beading was added by an Alaskan hunting guide. There is no snap it just has a leather insert for closing. He said it fit his old Colt SAA tight so it would not bounce around on horseback but the release was fast. It came in handy a couple of times on grizzly bears. I got it from him when he took off on a new adventure to Central America and thought he needed a little more gun power. It smells like campfires and smoked meat. Some of it is from his and some of it is from mine. I carry an old Colt SAA 45 in it most of the time, but once in a while I carry an old flattop 357 Ruger Blackhawk. Any lever will go just fine with it.

I like flapped holsters. What is the origin of the ammo pouches?

I just bought this holster and accessories for the Lahti that I have on order:

The holster is Swedish issue for their Husqvarna M40 pistol

Bruce Scott, I sorry I don't know the origin of the pouches.
