.44 mag. Rossi

Post by 765x53 »

I sold my well worn Marlin '94 years ago. Been kicking myself ever since.
Just handled a Rossi '92 in at least 98% condition. No safety, front sight on the band. Price tag $450.
Thoughts?

I have two of them, and my kids between them have three, and none has been a problem. Good price. Great that the 'safety' isn't there, too...!

I'd go for it.

Some need minor smoothing and so on.

There was a period of time in the mid 2000's where the 44mag Rossi's had oversized bores. During that period there were some EMF imported Rossi 92's that didn't have the ugly safeties, too.
But, it sounds like you have one of the earlier pre-2000 InterArms imported Rossi's. They could be somewhat rough but they do clean up and the bores are correct.

Sounds like a good buy, and easy for you to slick up with the help of Steve Young's DVD and parts. Buy it, you'll like it.

My Interarms Rossi .357 SRC is sure a keeper with a 5D sight on it now. After I bought it like new several years ago I ordered Steve's DVD and parts. like I said it's a keeper with .38's or .357 factory or my reloads. You will sure nuff enjoy it.

If you wanna shoot lead bullets, it's best to slug the bore. My Puma has .432"+ groove diameter so I bought a Ranch Dog mold, 265 gr. RNFP and size to .433" min....

Hi Mike,
How old is yours? Is it one of the mid 2000's guns?

One of the local stores here has a 24" octagon Rossi .44 mag. Sure wish that was $450!

Even at full retail I might just have to buy it, life's short after all
